Three typical totals

Scenario Device Installation Total (AED)
Apartment, one AC zone, 24V-compatible wiring Nest Thermostat, 350 Standard, 450 800
Villa bedroom zone, 220V FCU thermostat Ecobee Enhanced, 600 Standard with relay, 500 1,100
Villa with VRF system Nest 4th Gen, 800 With smart adapter, 850 1,650

What decides the installation price

1. Your AC type

This is the biggest factor. Smart thermostats run on 24 volts. UAE homes usually have one of these:

  • 24V system: found in some older villas and homes with American-style AC. Standard installation.
  • 220V fan coil unit (FCU): the most common setup in apartments and many villas. We add a 24V conversion relay. Usually still the standard price.
  • VRF or ducted system with a branded controller (Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Gree): the thermostat cannot talk to these directly. We install a smart adapter, which is why these jobs start at AED 850 to 950 including the adapter.

We confirm which one you have from a photo before you buy, so the quote you get is the price you pay.

2. Number of zones

Each AC zone needs its own thermostat. A three-bedroom villa with four FCUs needs four devices. We discount installation when we fit several on the same visit.

3. Wiring condition

If the existing thermostat has a missing common wire or damaged cable, extra wiring work may be needed. We tell you on site before doing it.

4. Extras

Room sensors, integration with Control4 or KNX, and multi-room balancing are quoted separately.

What is included in every installation

  • Free AC compatibility check before the visit
  • Removal of the old thermostat and safe wiring of the new one
  • Relay or adapter where needed
  • Wi-Fi setup, app setup on your phone, voice assistant pairing
  • Test of cooling, fan and schedule modes
  • Hidden cable finishing and a clean wall
  • UAE warranty on the device

Is it worth the cost?

Cooling is most of a UAE electricity bill. Both Nest and Ecobee quote savings of 10 to 15 percent through schedules, geofencing and eco modes. On a villa summer bill of AED 2,000 a month, that is AED 200 to 300 a month, so a AED 1,100 installation pays for itself in one summer. The daily benefit is comfort: the house is cool when you arrive and not wasting power when you are out.

Cheaper options and why we do not recommend them

Generic Wi-Fi thermostats from online marketplaces cost AED 150 to 300. They work, but the apps are weak, there is no learning or geofencing, support is non-existent, and most cannot control VRF systems at all. For a device you will use every day for ten years, the difference of a few hundred dirhams is small.
